Why 1875W tells you almost nothing about a blow dryer
Nearly every US hair dryer claims 1875W, so the number cannot separate them. Wattage measures electricity consumed, not air moved: roughly 80–90% of it goes to the heating element, leaving 10–20% for the motor that creates airflow. Two 1875W blow dryers can dry at very different speeds. A hotter dryer is not a faster dryer.
There is a hard ceiling that explains the uniformity: a US branch circuit is 15 amps, and 1875W at 125V is exactly 15A. That is why virtually every serious US dryer stops there — and why a “2000W” or “3000W professional” dryer on a US plug is quoting a peak or inflated figure, not sustained output.
The number that would tell you the truth is CFM, cubic feet of air per minute. Consumer dryers move roughly 10–50 CFM; salon dryers run 30–100. Almost no consumer brand prints it, because “1875 WATTS” sells better than “38 CFM” — which is why the CFM column above reads “not published” for all six. Buy a separate diffuser by barrel diameter, not by “universal”.
