This policy explains what information Save & Upgrade collects when you visit this site, why, and what control you have over it. Last updated August 2026.

Information we collect
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used — which pages are read, how visitors arrive, which devices they use, and roughly where in the world they are. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes data including a truncated IP address, browser and device information, and pages viewed. We use this in aggregate; we do not use it to identify you personally.
You can opt out of Google Analytics entirely using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Advertising
This site may display advertising served by third-party networks. These networks may set cookies or similar identifiers to measure ad delivery and to serve advertising based on your prior visits to this and other websites. We do not control these cookies and we do not receive personally identifying information from them.
You can manage interest-based advertising through the Digital Advertising Alliance or Your Online Choices (EU).
Affiliate links
When you click an affiliate link on this site, the destination retailer — for example Amazon — may set a cookie recording that you arrived from us, so that any resulting purchase can be attributed. That cookie is set and read by the retailer, under the retailer’s own privacy policy, not ours. We can see that a click occurred; we cannot see what you subsequently bought, your payment details, or your account information. See our affiliate disclosure.
If you email us, we retain that correspondence in order to reply and to keep a record of any correction you have reported. We do not add you to a mailing list because you emailed us.
Comments
If commenting is enabled and you leave a comment, we store the name, email address and content you submit, along with your IP address and browser user agent string, for spam detection. An anonymised hash of your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you have a profile picture.
Server logs
Our web host records standard access logs including IP address, request time, page requested and user agent. These are used for security and troubleshooting.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not collect payment information — all purchases happen on the retailer’s own site.
- We do not ask for or store account passwords.
- We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Cookies
Cookies used on this site fall into three groups: strictly necessary cookies set by WordPress for basic site function; analytics cookies set by Google Analytics; and advertising cookies set by third-party ad networks. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking analytics and advertising cookies will not prevent you using the site.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you, request its correction or deletion, object to processing, or request that we do not sell or share it. Residents of the EU/UK (GDPR) and California (CCPA/CPRA) have these rights explicitly. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front — but you may still exercise your other rights.

Data retention
Analytics data is retained for 14 months. Email correspondence is retained for as long as needed to handle the matter it concerns. Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely unless deletion is requested.
Third parties
The services that may process data in connection with this site include Google (Analytics), our web host, our advertising network, and the retailers whose affiliate programmes we participate in. Each operates under its own privacy policy.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page.
